PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision detection device capable of improving collision detection accuracy, and a vehicle control device capable of executing occupant protective control in the proper timing. SOLUTION: This collision detection device includes an angular acceleration arithmetic operation part 6 for acquiring angular acceleration being a value of indicating the size of a rotation component among behavior of a vehicle M1 and lateral acceleration sensors 3 and 4 for acquiring lateral acceleration of the vehicle, and detects a collision of requiring the occupant protection of the vehicle M1 based on the angular acceleration and the lateral acceleration. The occupant protective control can be executed based on the angular acceleration and the lateral acceleration. Thus, the collision of the vehicle can be detected and the occupant protective control can also be executed based on two parameters such as the angular acceleration and the lateral acceleration. This occupant protective device 1 can surely detect the collision of the vehicle, and can set a condition for determining the collision to a proper condition capable of restraining erroneous detection by using the two parameters.
