摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the uniformity of the static magnetic field by using a shim coil correcting a secondary component even when the shimming correction value of the secondary component exceeds the suppliable maximum current value in the calculation result of the shimming. SOLUTION: In this MRI apparatus, an arithmetic unit decides the magnetic field intensity distribution of a correction magnetic field for uniformizing the magnetic field intensity distribution of an imaging area. That is, the arithmetic unit sets a variable parameter of limiting the magnetic field intensity of at least one component in the correction magnetic field and varies the value of the variable parameter according to the maximum magnetic field intensity which can be generated by the correction magnetic field generation part of the MRI apparatus and the measured magnetic field intensity distribution, thereby deciding the magnetic field intensity distribution of the correction magnetic field so as not to exceed the maximum magnetic field intensity.
