<p>The method involves optical and chemical recording of fuel at a steep of a filled tank. Values e.g. TV pictures and analysis values, are detected in a database. Statements of the database are used for optical routine investigations of the fuel in the tank. A TV camera with a cable connection is used for monitoring an evaluation of the recorded pictures. The TV camera is accommodated in an inspection device. A reference object in focal spots of the TV camera is optically recorded. The fuel is illuminated by light emitted from a light source. An independent claim is also included for a device for inspection of optical and chemical quality of stored fuel.</p>
