PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mailbox preventing a flap for opening and closing an inlet port from being pushed to open by wind pressure, capable of receiving thin mail with no change, and improving operability when receiving thick mail. SOLUTION: An outer cover 14 for openably and closably covers a front side of the inlet port 4. The outer cover is pivoted at an upper end of a mailbox body 3 and is vertically turnable. Moreover, in a closed state of the outer cover, the lower edge of the outer cover is positioned above the upper edge of a front face 12 of a mailbox 1, which is positioned below the outer cover, and a gap 21 is formed between the front face of the mailbox and the outer cover. A door 8 is pivoted at the lower end thereof and is turnable back and forth. A front face of the mailbox is formed of a front panel 9 fixed on the door.
