According to one embodiment of the present invention, a broadcast signal receiver comprises: a first OFDM demodulator and a second OFDM demodulator which perform OFDM demodulation on a first M*N-QAM-type first broadcast signal and on a second M*N-QAM-type broadcast signal, respectively; a MIMO decoder which performs MIMO decoding on the first OFDM-demodulated broadcast signal and on the second OFDM-demodulated broadcast signal so as to output an M-QAM-type first signal and an N-QAM-type second signal; a first frequency deinterleaver and a second frequency deinterleaver which deinterleave the M-QAM-type first signal and the N-QAM-type second signal, respectively, in a frequency domain; a first frame parser and a second frame parser which parse the frame structures of the M-QAM-type first signal and of the N-QAM-type second signal; and a merger which merges the M-QAM-type first signal and the N-QAM type second signal.
