PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To instantaneously determine zoom using situations when performing imaging in an electronic endoscope. SOLUTION: The electronic endoscope system includes two or more kinds of electronic endoscopes provided with an imaging element for imaging an object part within the distal end of an intra-body-cavity insertion part; a video processor to which the two or more kinds of electronic endoscopes can be connected; an image processing part provided inside the two or more kinds of electronic endoscopes and/or inside the video processor, for generating observation images using signals from the imaging element; a monitor for displaying the observation images; button for performing optical zoom; and a button for performing electronic zoom.
