PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PM sensor enhanced in the detection precision of PM at a low cost. SOLUTION: The PM sensor for detecting a granular substance in exhaust gas is equipped with the PM sticking resistance wire 2, to which the granular substance sticks, arranged to the exhaust passage 11 of a vehicle, a detection part 3 for detecting a change in the resistance value of the PM sticking resistance wire 2 to detect the presence of the sticking of the granular substance and an electric heater 4 for combusting the granular substance sticking to the PM sticking resistance wire 2.
