<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas cleaning method and a device therefor enhancing the exhaust gas cleaning performance of a catalyst while allowing starting or warm-up operation of an engine at a low temperature. <P>SOLUTION: The maximum alcohol content in the fuel allowing starting or operation of the engine is calculated. When the alcohol content in the exhaust gas discharged from the engine and flowing into the catalyst is a threshold or higher when feeding the fuel containing the alcohol of the maximum alcohol content to the engine, a feed amount of the alcohol-containing fuel fed to an intake route by a main injector and a sub-injector is adjusted respectively, and a feed amount of the alcohol-containing fuel fed from an exhaust side injector to the exhaust route is adjusted. Thereby, the alcohol content in the exhaust gas flowing into the catalyst is set to an amount allowing the catalyst exhibiting the exhaust gas cleaning performance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
