PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the control device of an internal combustion engine, suppressing deterioration of a catalyst during cylinder deactivation operation of the internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: The control device 1 of the internal combustion engine, in which cylinder deactivation operation is also performed for deactivating cylinders when a specific condition is met, includes a fuel injection control means 21, 31c controlling fuel injection at every cylinder and stopping the fuel injection when the specific condition is met, a valve control means 20, 20a, 31 controlling opening and closing of an intake valve and an exhaust valve at every cylinder and keeping the closed condition of the intake valve and/or the exhaust valve when the specific condition is met, and a battery voltage detection means 10 detecting the voltage of a battery 22. The fuel injection control means 21, 31c retards timing for stopping the fuel injection when the specific condition is met and when the voltage of the battery 22 detected by the battery voltage detection means 10 is equal to or less than a threshold value.
