PURPOSE: A device for measuring particulate matter is provided to enhance heat resistance and increase a measurable range of pressure of exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION: A first unit(U1) is arranged near an exhaust pipe of an internal combustion engine. A second unit(U2) is prepared separately from the first unit. A connection pipe(C1) is interposed between the first and second units. Exhaust gas is introduced from one end of an exhaust-gas path(L11). An orifice(O11) is prepared on the exhaust-gas path. An pressure-raise preventing valve(V11) is connected to the exhaust-gas path. The valve becomes mechanically open by pressure, discharges some exhaust gas and prevents pressure raise, if the pressure in the exhaust-gas path becomes over a predetermined value. |
