SAFETY SYSTEM FOR MANOEUVRING AIRCRAFT ON THE GROUND

The invention relates to a laser-technology-based system that can be used to manoeuvre any type of aircraft on the ground, providing the crew with a visual reference and thus preventing the vast majority of situations in which the safety of the aircraft or the occupants thereof could be compromised through contact with other aircraft or any other element located on an apron or in the surrounding area. The invention comprises a small device which is built into the tip of the aerofoil (as an additional light) and which, at the request of the flight crew, emits a laser beam that is projected onto the asphalt and indicates the exact path that the tip of the aircraft aerofoil will take, thereby preventing crashes or compromising situations both on taxiways and the apron. Furthermore, the invention is very useful for maintenance personnel moving aircraft to hangars.
