摘要 <p>907,466. Sub-station circuits. TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L. M. ERICSSON. Jan. 14, 1959 [Jan. 14, 1958; Jan. 22, 1958; Oct. 9, 1958], No. 1382/59. Class 40 (4). In a subscriber's station equipment in which the conventional bell is not provided, alternating ringing current from an exchange is converted into an undulating direct current which is applied to a transistor oscillator which generates audio-frequency oscillations modulated in accordance with the undulating direct current, which oscillations are applied to an electroacoustic transducer having a diaphragm. The transducer is preferably the receiver of the subscriber's telephone handset. The invention is described as applied to a subscriber's instrument of the standing micro-telephone type, all the components being contained in the instrument casing. As shown in Fig. 2 a conventional telephone network 27 is combined with the " ringing " circuit 28. In the rest condition with the plunger switch 26 depressed, the switch contacts 26a and the dial normally open contacts 20c connect the line conductors L1, L2 to the input terminals T1, T4 of the circuit 28, the transmitter 17 being disconnected from line by switch contacts 26c, and the impulsing contacts 20 being rendered ineffective by normally open contacts 20a, 20b. The circuit 40 consisting of rectifier 46, resistor 48, capacitors 50, 52, resistor 54 and diode 56 converts the received ringing current into an undulating direct current, thus producing across capacitor 52 an undulating potential which is applied via terminals T5, T6 to the transistor oscillator 41. Terminals T6 remains positive with respect to T5 throughout, its potential reaching a maximum during each positive half-cycle of ringing current, and falling between positive halfcycles. This variation causes a warble to be introduced into the output of oscillator 41. The oscillator frequency corresponds to the natural frequency of the receiver 19 to which its output is applied. The firing of tube 56 during each positive half-cycle gives a visible signal that the station is being rung. The capacitor 50 and resistor 44 are chosen to provide a time constant long enough to prevent firing of the tube 56 to the spikes produced by dialling pulses from a telephone connected in parallel with that shown. " Ringing circuits " 28 responsive to different frequencies may be used at party line stations. Other embodiments are described with reference to Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown). The circuit 40 may be replaced by the arrangement shown in Fig. 9, which consists of a bar 84 which is rocked by the coils 86, 88 in response to ringing current of a predetermined frequency, the bar being tuned by adjustable weights 90<SP>1</SP>. Successive opening and closing of contact sets 92, 94 causes the integrator circuit consisting of resistor 98 and capacitor 100 to produce the desired undulating direct current at T5<SP>1</SP>, T6<SP>1</SP>. This arrangement may be mounted in a standing micro-telephone set as indicated in Fig. 10.</p>
