The device (1) has a clamping tool (1.1) coupled with a drive unit (1.2) and a component (2) is fixed in the clamping tool. The drive unit is arranged by which the component is rotatable around an axis (x). A collecting tray is provided, in which grinding medium leaking over work piece openings during rotation is fed. A conveyor element (1.4) is provided for introduction of grinding medium in the cavity (2.1). An independent claim is also included for a method for processing a rotationally symmetric cavity of a pressure-resistant component.
