The thruster has an extruder (3) for introducing an iron oxide aluminum mixture in a powder form into a set of reactors (1) for a thermal iron-oxide aluminum reaction. Turbulence nozzles (1') inject compressed air into the reactor, so that the iron oxide aluminum mixture is dispersed in air. An extensible arc ignition system (4) is projected into and moved out of the reactor based on ignition of the iron oxide aluminum mixture, where the iron oxide aluminum mixture is mixed with the compressed air with high pressure and the compressed air is expanded.
