PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a compressor during defrosting operation in a refrigerating cycle device performing the defrosting operation of an evaporator by increasing a restriction opening of a variable restricting mechanism. SOLUTION: During the defrosting operation, a target high pressure determination means determines target high pressure TPh so that dryness of a refrigerant at an evaporator 17 outlet becomes equal to or higher than predetermined reference dryness KDR or so that the refrigerant at the evaporator 17 outlet becomes a gas phase state, and increases the restriction opening of an electric expansion valve 16 which is the variable restricting mechanism so that discharge refrigerant pressure Ph of the compressor 14 becomes the target high pressure TPh. Thereby, the amount of a liquid phase refrigerant made to flow in to the compressor 14 suction port side at start of the defrosting operation is set to be small amount at a level preventing a problem of liquid compression of the compressor 14, so as to protect the compressor 14.
