PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a stable light guide of laser beams by attaining low-loss connection between optical fibers. SOLUTION: This medical device includes an optical connector which optically connects a plug-side optical fiber fixed to a plug, to a receptacle-side optical fiber fixed to a receptacle by detachably attaching the plug to the receptacle provided in a device body, wherein the plug and the receptacle include a plurality of engagement pairs which consist of projections projecting in the inserting direction of the plug, and engagement portions to be engaged with the projections. The plurality of engagement pairs are so formed that the engagement start positions between the projections and the engagement portions are located at mutually different positions along the inserting direction of the plug, and engagement clearances between the projections and the engagement portions are narrowed as engagement pairs start the engagement later with the insertion of the plug.
