<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner and a method of controlling the air conditioner capable of preventing frost formation in a cooling operation in single type indoor units used in the multi-type air conditioner. <P>SOLUTION: This air conditioner includes a control section 7 for controlling a discharged-refrigerant flow rate of the compressor 21 in which a refrigerant is circulated, and a storing section 45 for storing information relating to the signal indoor units 4A, 4B, 4C, 4D, and an indoor-side upper limit required flow rate as an upper limit of the discharge-refrigerant flow rate required to the compressor 21. In the control section 7, an outdoor-side upper limit required flow rate as the upper limit of the discharged-refrigerant flow rate based on the information acquired from the storing section 45, and having a value smaller than the indoor-side upper limit required flow rate, is stored, and the control section 7 controls the discharged-refrigerant flow rate on the basis of the outdoor-side upper limit required flow rate, when a prescribed time is passed after a temperature of the air sucked to the single indoor units 4A, 4B, 4C, 4D reaches a prescribed air temperature or higher in the cooling operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
