PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic analyzer for improving the accuracy and the reliability of an analysis performance, and maintaining the accuracy and the repeatability of a relative position relationship between a detection container and a magnetic particle capturing magnet adjacent to the detection container. SOLUTION: The analyzer includes the detection container for receiving a solution containing the magnetic particles, the magnet for magnetically capturing the magnetic particles within the detection container, a photoelectron multiplier for measuring the quantity of an emission derived from a light emitting material within the detection container, and the function for evaluating the relative position relationship between the detection container and the magnetic particle capturing magnet based on a change in an output signal due to an effect of an external magnetic field to the photoelectron multiplier.
