<p>The present invention relates to the roles played by a LSD1 gene in carcinogenesis and features a method for treating or preventing cancer by administering a double-stranded molecule against the LSD1 gene or a composition, vector or cell containing such a double- stranded molecule. The present invention also features methods and kits for detecting or diagnosing cancer in a subject, using the over-expressed LSD1 gene. Also, disclosed are methods of screening for candidate substances for treating and preventing cancer or inhibiting cancer cell growth, using as an index their effect on the expression or activity of LSD1.</p> |
