摘要 <p>Provided is a method for producing a carbon positive pole, with which it is possible to use low-quality calcined petroleum coke as a starting material for the carbon positive pole and to obtain a high-quality carbon positive pole having a low thermal expansion coefficient. A method for producing a carbon positive pole used in aluminum tempering, wherein said method comprises: an ash-free coal production step in which coal is altered using a solvent to produce ash-free coal; a carbonization step in which the ash-free coal is carbonized to obtain ash-free coal coke; a carbon material production step in which the ash-free coal coke is mixed with calcined petroleum coke obtained by calcination of green petroleum coke to produce a carbon material; and a carbon positive-pole production step in which the carbon material is heat treated to obtain a carbon positive pole. The carbon material production step involves mixing carbon particles such that particles having a particle size of 0.25 mm or greater that make up the carbon material are formed from the ash-free coal coke and the calcined petroleum coke, and particles having a particle size of less than 0.25 mm comprise 2.0 mass% or greater of sulfur.</p>
