The invention relates to a razor that uses removable cartridges having the blade units (razor blades) mounted such that the sharp edges thereof project outward, facing in the correct direction for shaving when the device is appropriately moved along the user's skin. The invention includes a fixed head (1), the interior of which houses a pivoting cartridge (2) having a plurality of double-edged blade units arranged on the respective shaving sides of the cartridge body, each one of which comes into use when it faces a front opening (5) in the fixed head. The cartridge is an elongated parallelpipedic housing, having a plurality of preferably rectangular main sides between two smaller lateral sides, on which are mounted the cutting blades, each of which has two equal longitudinal and parallel edges slightly separated from each other, constituting four parallel cutting edges for each side, arranged one below the other. The cutting units having longitudinal double edges have some structural flexibility and are rather snugly housed in straight, elongated chambers that extend along each one of the shaving sides of the pivoting cartridge. Each cutting unit is inside a straight, elongated body having a U-shaped cross-section from whose free edges project corresponding oblique tabs arranged parallel to each other and that extend from end to end.
