PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for transforming a monocotyledon by means of agrobacterium. SOLUTION: The method for transforming a monocotyledon by means of agrobacterium containing a desired recombinant gene is provided. The transforming method comprises steps for sowing a culture medium containing a plant growth factor with a monocotyledonous seed, culturing for 1-3 days to be allowed to germinate, and subsequently infecting the seed with the agrobacterium.
