ESTIMATION OF WEATHER MODIFICATION EFFECTS

Disclosed is a method of estimating the effect of a weather modification apparatus over a trial area. The method comprises determining an observational model for meteorological observations at sites over the trial area using variables unrelated to the operation of the weather modification apparatus and variables related to the operation of the weather modification apparatus; determining a first set of meteorological values in the trial area using the observational model excluding the variables unrelated to the operation of the weather modification apparatus; and determining an estimate of the effect of the weather modification apparatus over the trial area using the first set of meteorological values.
