<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overvoltage protection component capable of reducing damage of an electrode at portions other than an end of the electrode, the damage being caused owing to a further higher applied voltage and an increase in the number of times of repeated applications. <P>SOLUTION: The overvoltage protection component includes: a substrate 1; an overvoltage protection portion 11; a first discharge electrode 3; and a second discharge electrode 4. The overvoltage protection portion 11 includes a first overvoltage protection part 2 formed on the substrate 1 and a second overvoltage protection part 5 formed to cover at least an end of the first discharge electrode 3 and at least an end of the second discharge electrode 4. The first discharge electrode 3 includes a first discharge electrode surface facing part 3a that is brought into contact with a side face of the overvoltage protection portion 11, and the second discharge electrode 4 includes a second discharge electrode surface facing part 4a that is brought into contact with a side face of the overvoltage protection portion 11, wherein surfaces of the first discharge electrode surface facing part 3a and the second discharge electrode surface facing part 4a face each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
