PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress speed increase during traveling of a car with a door opened by early and surely detecting the unintentional traveling of the car with the door opened, so as to substantially reduce the traveling distance until a car stops, in an elevator device. SOLUTION: In an elevator device allowing a car 1 to travel with the door opened under a predetermined condition, the car 1 is installed with an acceleration meter 9 for detecting the acceleration. If the acceleration of the car 1 detected by the acceleration meter 9 exceeds the predetermined value larger than the value detectable during travel of the car 1 with the door opened, the power supply to a hoisting machine 4 and a brake device 5 is cut off, so as to stop the car 1 in an emergency.
