PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor memory device and a memory system, enabling improved throughput, by separating data input terminals from data output terminals, and suppression of increase in the number of terminals. SOLUTION: The semiconductor memory device includes: at least one write-data input terminal; read data output terminals the number of which is N times the write-data input terminals; a data memory unit; a data output circuit for outputting the read data read out from the data memory unit, from the read data output terminals, in synchronization with a first frequency signal; and a data input circuit for fetching write data, being input from the write data input terminals, and for transmitting the write data to the data memory unit, in synchronization with a write-strobe signal, having a frequency which is N times the first frequency.
