The device (1) has an elongated pipe (10) including first and second openings (12, 14) that are axially space apart from each other, and another elongated pipe (20) including third and fourth openings (22, 24) and gripped within the former elongated pipe. A sensor (30) e.g. lambda sensor and carbon sensor, is provided in the latter elongated pipe, and a partition wall (40) is formed between the elongated pipes, so that two chambers (42, 44) are formed in the former elongated pipe. A flow connector is produced from the one of the chambers into another chamber over the latter elongated pipe.
