When in a heating mode having a configurable output, a scorch detection unit (5) outputs scorch information if the output voltage (V) of an infrared sensor (4), which detects the infrared rays from a pot (1), increases from a first output voltage value (V1) to a second output voltage value (V2) or above. After the scorch information is input to a control unit (7), the control unit (7) stops the heating if the output voltage (V) reaches a third output voltage value (V3) which is set to be lower than an output voltage (V0) at which heating is suspended when scorch information is not input. The control unit (7) does not implement heating control on the basis of the scorch information when heating at an output setting value of at least a predetermined value, or when the rate of temperature increase of the pot (1) is at least a predetermined value. When carrying out high output cooking such as frying in the heating mode, scorching can be detected without the unnecessary suspension of heating.
