PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly inhibit vibration in an earthquake and to reduce time and labor for maintenance by increasing the natural period. SOLUTION: A seismic isolation device 1 is interposed between an upper structure 2 and a lower structure 3 supporting the same, secures seismic isolation effect against vibration in the vertical direction Y generated between the upper structure 2 and lower structure 3, and includes a threaded shaft 11 with fixed end 11b in the thread axis direction fixed to the upper structure 2, a nut 12 screwed to the threaded shaft 11 and rotatably held with respect to the lower structure 3, and a pair of spring members 13 inhibiting rotation of the nut 12.
