PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing (poly)glyceryl ether with a narrow molecular weight distribution, wherein polymerization between glycidol molecules in a gaseous phase is inhibited and reaction time is reduced. SOLUTION: The method for producing the (poly)glyceryl ether by reacting alcohols (other than glycidol and glycerol) and glycidol comprises: adjusting the pressure inside a reaction system to 0.1-25 MPa (gauge pressure) with an inert gas; and carrying out the reaction while maintaining a reaction temperature of within 150-270°C and the pressure inside the reaction system within the pressure range.
