<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device that correctly detects the toner density of two-component developer in the developing device even if a distance between the two-component developer in the developing device and the detecting section of an inductance sensor varies, and to provide an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus A includes: an image carrier 1; a developing device 100 configured to develop a latent image formed on the image carrier; a sensor 20 to which control voltages are applied, thereby outputting a signal corresponding to the toner density of developer in the developing device; a storage means 30 configured to store information on the toner density of the developer in the developing device; and control means 40 and 41 configured to correct the output characteristic of the sensor relative to the toner density of a developer in the developing device on the basis of the information on the toner density, stored in the storage means, and the output values of the sensor supplied when a plurality of different control voltages are applied to the sensor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
