<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus suppressing developer deterioration and fogging to the minimum without causing middle-missing. <P>SOLUTION: Regarding the control method of the intermediate transfer system image forming apparatus (color printer 1) including a driving device configured to individually drive latent image carriers (photoreceptor drums Y, M, C, K) and developing devices (3Y, 3M, 3C, 3K), the driving time of the developing device is determined based on a contact traveling time in which the latent image carrier and a intermediate transfer body (intermediate transfer belt 50) are driven to rotate in contact with each other. Concretely, a time, until at least one of the latent image carrier and the intermediate transfer body stops after the latent image carrier and the intermediate transfer body start operating in contact with each other, is measured as the contact traveling time, and a first minimum driving time (minimum driving time A1) of the developing device obtained by subtracting a predetermined time from the contact traveling time is determined, and the developing device is driven so that the driving time of the developing device within the contact traveling time is not below the first minimum driving time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
