PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To except an image including an unwanted subject from an object to be evaluated in an AF area. SOLUTION: A controller 104 detects edges of hue components of images in a plurality of AF areas set within a captured image plane, and excepts the image in a range where the unwanted subject is included from the AF area based on the detected edges of the hue components.
