PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device of radioactive decontamination which can decontaminate radioactivity almost completely through sufficient ablation and decontamination of insoluble radioactive deposition membranes deposited on the bottom of horizontal pipes of a primary piping system, by means of simple operation and work by chemical decontamination. SOLUTION: In the device, which removes the clad of radioactive extraneous matters deposited on the horizontal pipe part 105 of a T-shaped piping part 9 when decontaminating liquid is filled within a decontamination part of a boiling water reactor 2 and to perform chemical decontamination, includes a pump 14 connecting a suction opening via a recovering valve 11 branching-connected with a vertical pipe 8 of the piping part 9 and a recovery tank 16 connected with a discharge hole of the pump 14 to recover the decontamination liquid and the clads, the pump 14 is started after chemical decontamination, the recovering valve 11 is turned open to make a flow of the decontamination liquid arise within the horizontal pipe 105, and the clad is discharged into the recovery tank 16 together with the decontaminating liquid.
