PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for selecting and reproducing one among menu streams in which character information prepared in a variety of languages and data used by the respective languages in common are multiplexed. SOLUTION: The stream member of the interactive graphic stream corresponding to a language which is set to a register of a first player state for setting the language to be used for a menu is preserved in a register of a second player state, and one interactive graphic stream corresponding to the stream number preserved in the register of the second player state is selected from a plurality of the interactive graphic streams. The plurality of interactive graphic streams are used for controlling the reproduction of an AV data stream, and each interactive graphic stream corresponds to one of the plurality of languages and is selectable so as to be reproduced together with the AV data stream.
