PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waterproof switch which prevents breakage of a tactile switch while maintaining a reliable switching operation. SOLUTION: In the waterproof switch 1, a movable plate 50 with stiffness higher than that of a cover 40 is fixed to a rear surface 40B of the cover 40. The movable plate 50 includes stopper parts 53A, 53B which secure a gap W1 against the surface 20A of a substrate 20 by a restoring force of the cover 40 in a normal state and are displaced to eliminate the gap W1 when pressed against a pressing surface 40A to stop movement by abutting on the surface 20A of the substrate 20 and a spring part 52 which is displaced to release a reaction force F1 from a button 31 until the gap W1 is eliminated after switching action is caused at the tactile switch 30 by pushing the button 31 only by an action distance S1 by being displaced to be separated from the surface 31A of the button 31 by the restoring force of the cover 40 in the normal state and to come into contact with the surface 31A of the button 31 when pressed against the pressing surface 40A.
