<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermediate-transfer-system image forming apparatus capable of automatically determining the print state of a paper sheet, and reusing the unprinted side of the paper sheet. <P>SOLUTION: The main controller and engine controller of a complex machine are configured to determine the print state of the paper sheet based on a reading result obtained by an image sensor (S155), and in such the print state that a surface to be printed is not printed yet (YES in S155), the toner on an intermediate transfer belt is transferred to the surface to be printed (S156), and in such the print state that the surface to be printed has been already printed (NO in S155), in the midst of the rest of the paper sheet at a registration position (S153), the toner on a plurality of photoreceptor drums and the intermediate transfer belt are removed by cleaning blades (S159); thereafter, the paper sheet is made to pass through a transfer position where the toner on the intermediate transfer belt is transferred to the paper sheet (S163). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
