PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an index implement which has little possibility of detachment of an index and reduces possibility of sliding down of the index in a lengthwise direction. SOLUTION: In the index implement a male part 2 having a head 1 is integrally provided on the first band-like base part 3; a female part 7 having pawls 5 and 22 at both the ends 4 and having an approximately circular arc-like cross section 6 is integrally provided on the second band-like base part 8; the male part 2 and the female part 7 are provided as synthetic resin-made engagement members 13 and 20 bringing about engagement of the male part 2 and the female part 7 with each other; an index attachment member 10 to which the index 9 is attached and the index 9 are made from synthetic resin; the first band-like base part 3 is provided at the end 11 of the index attachment member 10; the second band-like base part 8 is provided on the index 9. The index 9 can be moved to or stopped at an arbitral position by sliding the index 9 on the index attachment member 10 with the male part 2 and the female part 7 engaging with each other and the engagement state is released by the separation of the male part 2 and the female part 7.
