The method involves operating an electrical flywheel accumulator for generating a supply voltage in an electrical system in an operating mode. The supply voltage is high such that an electrical machine (16) is operated for a boost-operation of a vehicle drive. The operation of the electrical flywheel accumulator is provided in the operating mode also when no boost-operation of the vehicle drive is provided.
