摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a shift from an appropriate value of a common potential. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal device 100A of the present invention includes a first alignment layer 16A that is disposed in a liquid crystal layer 50 side of a first substrate 10 and a second alignment layer 22A that is disposed in the liquid crystal layer 50 side of a second substrate 20. The first alignment layer 16A includes a second inorganic layer 162A, which is disposed in the liquid crystal layer 50 side of a first inorganic layer 161A and in contact with the liquid crystal layer 50 and has a columnar structure with an orientation angle thereof different from that of the first inorganic layer 161A. The second alignment layer 22A includes a fourth inorganic layer 222A, which is disposed in the liquid crystal layer 50 side of a third inorganic layer 221A and in contact with the liquid crystal layer 50 and has a columnar structure with an orientation angle different from that of the third inorganic layer 221A.
