PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing member capable of assembling surfaces abutting on a side plate and a top plate or a ground plate to be substantially orthogonal to each other and substantially perpendicularly fixing a back plate to the side plate, etc. SOLUTION: This fixing member 1 is provided on a rear face of the back plate 14 of box type furniture 10 to fix the back plate, the side plate 11, the top plate 12 or the ground plate 13. The fixing member 1 includes a first support part 2 for supporting one surface of a corner part 16 formed by the side plate 11 and the top plate 12 or the ground plate 13, and a second support part 3 for supporting the other surface. In each of the first support part 2 and the second support part 3, a fixed hole 5 inserted with a fixing tool 5a therein for fixing the side plate 11, the top plate 12 or the ground plate 13 is provided, the surfaces abutting on the side plate 11 and the top plate 12 or the ground plate 13 are arranged to be substantially orthogonal to each other and are constituted to be separated from each other, and an escape recessed portion 4 which is not contact with the corner part formed by the side plate 11 and the top plate 12 or the ground plate 13 is provided.
