The headlight (10) has a transparent cover plate (24) for covering a housing (22), where a light source (28) i.e. incandescent lamp, is arranged closer to an upper inner surface (30) of the housing than to a lower inner surface (32) of the housing. The headlight is designed such that bright-dark boundary separates a lower bright area of light distribution from an upper dark area of the light distribution. A planar, radiation reflecting and heat distributing plate (34) is arranged between the light source and the upper inner surface. A reflector (26) is pivoted around the light source.
