PURPOSE: A carrier allocation method of mobile communication system is provided to allocate a carrier according to a service property requested by a portable terminal by creating a traffic channel allocation message reflected a carrier allocation method. CONSTITUTION: A request message is created in order to establish a value corresponding to an operating application program and is transmitted to a base station(S201, S202). The base stating analyzes a connecting request message received from a portable terminal(S204). A carrier allocation method of a forward link and a reverse link corresponding to a value included in a request reason field. A traffic channel message reflected a selected carrier allocation method is created and transmits to the portable terminal.
