FIELD: engines and pumps. ^ SUBSTANCE: plasma engine comprises discharge chamber, magnetic system with emf-source, magnetic core, outer and inner magnetic poles with central opening, working gas distribution anode and at least one compensation cathode. Discharge chamber inner and outer annular walls make accelerating channel. Magnetic poles form working pole gap. Gap inner area extends inside accelerating channel while its outer area extends beyond said channel. Anode is arranged at discharge chamber bottom. Compensation cathode is arranged inside magnetic system and comprises igniter electrode with central bore. Said disk-shape electrode is made from magnetically conducting material and arranged aligned with inner magnetic pole, on its outer side. Note here that radial magnetically isolated channel is arranged between electrode and pole.
