A liquid crystal display (200) including an active device array substrate (210), an opposite substrate (220) disposed above the active device array substrate (210), a liquid crystal layer (230) disposed between the active device array substrate (210) and the opposite substrate (220), and spacers (240) is provided. The active device array substrate (210) includes a substrate (212), pixels, a first dielectric layer (260) and color filter patterns (270). Each pixel includes a first active device, a first pixel electrode (254) and a capacitor electrode (256). The capacitor electrode (256) and the first pixel electrode (254) constitute a storage capacitor (C st ). The first dielectric layer (260) covers the first active device. The color filter patterns (270) are disposed on the first dielectric layer (260). Each of the color filter patterns (270) has a first opening (H1) disposed above the capacitor electrode (256) to expose the first dielectric layer (260) above the capacitor electrode (256). Each first pixel electrode (254) is respectively disposed on one of the color filters (270) and within the corresponding first opening (H1).
