An elongated lighting device and method of making the same are provided. The elongated lighting device includes two polymeric lighting elements (210A,210B) that each include light extractors (230A,230B) along at least one side edge. The lighting elements are made from the same optically transparent polymeric material and are molded using curable polymer systems. Two or more lighting elements are joined using an optical adhesive (240) that includes the same material from which the lighting elements are made.
