Tool for simulating the behavior of a terminal receiving a signal transmitted as data stream packets

The tool has a simulating unit simulating a reader in a buffer storage memory (23). The simulating unit comprises a calculating unit i.e. simulating software module (35), for calculating theoretical instant to be restored by the memory for data packets by respecting an order and an output rate defined by temporal labels. The simulating unit comprises another calculating unit to calculate the instant restored by the memory for respecting the order and the output rate defined by the labels for each packet followed by other packet after starting the reader or after a restoration period. The tool is realized in a form of software executed on a personal computer.
