The device has an overlaying unit (6) for overlaying a plastic film over a product stack (1), and a film supply unit (4) for supplying the film as a film tube (2) to a film supply head (5). The head has a film drive unit for supplying the film, and a blower by which blow air is blown at a preset rate on the film. The film is guided and/or drawn by the blow air in a supply direction of the film. The drive unit has a guide roller and a pair of counter rollers that lie on the guide roller under interposition of the film and/or the film tube.
