<p>The device has rotation axes (B) aligned transverse to a longitudinal direction (L) and parallel to a material web (2) in a concurrent inclined position. An anvil cylinder and a tool cylinder (4) are rotated against each other and rotatably mounted at respective rotation axes. A material web is arranged between the anvil cylinder and the tool cylinder. The anvil cylinder and the tool cylinder are pivoted in the concurrent inclined position.
