PURPOSE: A character display apparatus of a terminal including a touch screen is provided to release a lock screen through the movement of a character. CONSTITUTION: A lock screen for locking a touch screen is displayed(530). A character with a movement effect on a predetermined background image is displayed. If a touch input is generated, the touch input is determined(540). If the touch input is for the manipulation of lock cancelation, the character performs a predetermined operation which indicates the cancelation of the screen lock(550).
